Polished Thundereggs

PAGE 1

I am selling some of my collection of cut and polished thunderegg specimens before it overruns my shop :) Almost all of these are Oregon thundereggs collected by myself and other rockhounds both in ancient times (in other words, 50 years ago) throug last year. These are halves for display, not slabs. The size of each is noted, a well as the locality where they were collected. None of the photos are enhanced - indeed, the photos don't do these proper justice.

These have all been polished by ME, which means that they have an excellent to mirror polish. The fine white lines and spots you see on a few of the pieces are the result of polishing compound that gets stuck in the tiny fractures, pits, and softer areas that 99% of all thundereggs have. I have not filled them in or worse yet colored them with a marker like you see with virtually every thunderegg for sale on the net. You can remove it with some patience and a fine steel wire brush or color it yourself. I am just being totally honest about what you are looking at here.

All thundereggs will be sent Parcel Post mail or flat rate priority mail ($14.00), whichever is less unless you specify the shipping method.

Click on the cart next to the price to purchase a thunderegg via Paypal.

I accept electronic payments or credit cards via PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, would like to set up an account, or would like to use their one-time transfer feature without signing up for an account, please feel free to try the shopping cart by clicking the cart button next to each item. I will bill S&H charges to your PayPal account once I have your order ready to ship. You MUST unblock cookies and popups for the PayPal site to work!

I now accept debit & credit card payments if you pick up your rocks here!

I'll be adding more as time allows, so check back often :) I'll try to post them as I add them to my Facebook page

Please note: I have a minimum` order of $25 before S&H charges.

About Fluorescent Eggs: Many of these fluoresce in SW = shortwave and/or LW = longwave UV = ultraviolet light. Some are spectacular, displaying bright and subtle green, yellow, blue, white, or purple colors. Many times the fluorescent colors are very different from the visible light colors, and don't necessarily look similer. In other words you can get a different "look" under UV light vs. visible light. I note where they are usually fluorescent under my SW and LW lights; some eggs fluoresce in green or yellow but not very strongly. They're still cool to look at under UV anyway. Click HERE for a few examples from my collection.

If you've recently visited this page, be aware that your browser may have cached the images and although all browsers are supposed to catch new images and reload them, sometimes they don't. So hit the refresh button below just in case to make sure you have the lastest pics.

There's a simple fix for Firefox:

Go to the url address: about:config. This should load the Firefox config settings in the window for editing. You may see a warning message stating, "This might void your warranty!" that will require you to click through to load the settings. Then find the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency key and change it to 1.

For those of you who are looking for something specific in my for sale pages, such as when I list refurbished equipment, I might have a solution for you. You may want to try this: https://www.changedetection.com, I think all you do is sign up and enter the address of the page, for example if you are looking for equipment enter http://orerockon.com/equipment_for_sale.html, and they should send you an email when I add something. BUT, it probably will send you a notice when I change one letter of one sentence on the page, so you might get annoyed by it at some point. It's a great way to track when I list new polished items, since I typically don't change anything until something sells and/or I add items, and equipment, which I never change unless I add new pieces or change the status to "sold" as they sell.

SOLD means just what it says. Please do not click on the Cart button if it says SOLD

Click on the pic or the number for a larger view.

I wil bill shipping charges later through Paypal. Eggs will be sent via Parcel Post Mail for light or small eggs, or flat rate priority mail ($13) for larger ones.

If you don't want to use PayPal, please EMAIL ME at the address above.

You MUST allow cookies and popups for the PayPal site to work! (I get complaints that Paypal is "broken" at least once a week. It is ALWAYS because your web browser and/or firewall is blocking information from Paypal)

You MUST have a valid email address to use PayPal!

I will ignore orders from invalid email addresses (yes this happens, believe it or not)! You DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT to use PayPal! If you choose to pay via eCheck, I will wait for it to clear before starting on your order. (Yes, I have been ripped off this way. Apparently it's a common scam used on PayPal.)

Do not ever email anyone your credit card number! If someone asks you for it, they are attempting to steal it! If you email me your credit card number, it will likely be stolen since one of tens of thousands of bots will probably intercept any email that looks like it has a credit card number in it. I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway, that's what PayPal is for.
